The digsites will always contain one buried fossil that can be exhumed. The structures of the site is similar to an Autophage Camp, except it is inhabited by normal aliens.

In the center, a big skull decoration can be found, however it cannot be collected.

Around the digsite is are two interactable NPCs. One of them is a fossil collector trade shop, and the other is an assistant. From them the player can learn language, practice language skills, or gift them for alien rank improvements.

Discarded dirt wheelbarrows are scattered around the digsite, which can be collected for Polished Stone, Rusted Metal or Dirt.
